The exhibition, «IF THIS IS THE ANSWER, WHAT IS THE QUESTION?», shows viewpoints and works of art which render the basic qualities of audiovisual art tangible. The exhibition revolves around the question, “If audiovisual art is the answer, what is the question?” Subsequently, another mental loop is created: “If this exhibition is a question, what are the answers you will find for yourself?”

The Künstlerhausʼs Passagegalerie becomes the exhibition space of a sound:frame project already in existence – the so-called VIENNA VISUALS. VIENNA VISUALS looks into the City of Vienna and its characteristic places and people, which might not even be visible at first glance, and connects visual image worlds with current musical formats.

In the course of the new sound:frame format «OPEN STUDIO» Viennese visuals/AV studios and design studios create artworks which will be included in the festival catalogue in the form of art posters, and are also shown in the «OPEN STUDIO» exhibition at the mo.ë contemporary in the 16th Viennese district. 
«OPEN STUDIO» puts each artist and designer from the live-performance and design part of the festival in the spotlight. This way, sound:frame once again highlights the fact that audiovisual trends take place in the most diverse contexts, such as art exhibitions, live performances, and design. It emphasizes the diversity of positions and formats that make up the Austrian audiovisual art scene – and sound:frame itself.
